the darkness in your soul
It hides behind the charm
the evil takes a toll
Like a spider spins the web
awaiting treats of flies
The monster feasts on minds
by tricking us with lies
Hundred's walk among us
with angry, vile wrath
Let me introduce you:
'white collar psychopath'

oo the scariest monster are the ones in reality surely...and our word seems full of them as well...and def scary at times too...

Hi Brian~nice to see you my friend. Can you tell I was watching too many scary t.v. shows this weekend. LOL We had a movie marathon watching shows like: supernatural,48 hours Murder Mystery,Criminal Minds, CSI...thanks for coming by and have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteListening Daisy~Thanks so much for taking the time to read my monster poem. I whipped this poem out as I was watching scary movies.
ReplyDeleteIt is scary that these monsters can be as real as the ones portrayed in movies. As you can see, I was watching scary t.v. this weekend and that's how this came to me.
ReplyDeleteHi Polly~ya, unfortunately, I've met a couple of these monsters too. The inspiration for this poem however was watching too much scary t.v. this weekend. Supernatural, CSI, Criminal Minds and 48 Hours Murder Mystery :-0
ReplyDeleteaka_andrea~Aww, thanks for that very nice compliment. I just love that word 'Penned!' It just sounds so much better than the alternatives.
ReplyDeleteSo very true. One never knows, at all, simply by appearances. Nice take on the prompt.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Renee :-)
ReplyDeletethat's the dangerous thing...they don't look like monsters but...
ReplyDeleteWelcome to another day in the business world.
ReplyDeleteThat last line is killer. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Claudia-it's scary isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHi Timoteo-sadly this can be so true. :-0
ReplyDeleteThanks DarkAngel~much appreciate-sadly, this poem talks of so many evils out there.
ReplyDeleteI have met some of these monsters. I find it best to identify people like this, steer clear of them, and avoid them at all costs. It makes like a lot easier with a lot less drama.

Kathy~my thoughts exactly. I've known a few and it is best to stay out of their way/and out of harms way.
ReplyDeleteThis is so eerie...gosh the monsters we live with daily, they are the scariest of all...a great write, love the simplicity of the rhyme it really hits hard...excellent stuff!
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly for your comment. I know, the real live ones are the scariest ones. Not the fictional ones in movies and t.v. but the ones living among us.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely. Real monsters are among us.
ReplyDeleteStay safe Brenda and the rest of my writing friends. LOL
